If you have already set up a workflow or automation using our Shopify Flow triggers, then the option to send / re-send those triggers is useful for testing that your flows and triggers are working as expected, but it can also be used if a Birthday capture or Birthday event has been missed.
This simple article will outline where you can find this feature within the app.
For more details on the requirements of using our Happy Birthday Flow triggers please see our article: Extending Happy Birthday with Shopify Flow triggers
Steps
1. You can find the Send Flow Trigger option when clicking on the '3 dot menu (...)' to the right of the customer details, within the main Customers view of the app:
Please Note:
The Shopify Flow trigger relies on the Birthday Club member having a customer record within your Shopify Store as the trigger needs to be associated with a valid Shopify Customer ID. These members are indicated within the Happy Birthday app by a green icon next to their customer details. The Send Flow Trigger option will not be visible for any members without a valid Shopify Customer ID.
2. Click the Send Flow Trigger option from that dropdown menu:
3. A modal will then appear asking you to choose which Flow Trigger you’d like to send/re-send:
Select the relevant trigger and click the Send Now button.
We have detailed guides for each of our Happy Birthday Flow Triggers that can be found within the following articles:
Customer Birthday: How to send a Birthday email using Shopify Email
Birthday Captured: How to use the Captured Customer Birthday trigger in Shopify Flow
4. After clicking the Send Now button a dialogue will appear at the bottom of the screen confirming that the Flow Trigger has been sent:
That's it! Your Shopify Flow has now been triggered and you should see all actions and notifications associated with the usual behaviour for that Flow.
