Please Note:
This article is specifically aimed at Merchants who wish to enable our integration with SMSBump.
There are a number of reasons why SMSBump may not be sending your Birthday SMS messages. We'll try to address a few of these here:
- Your SMSBump account has not been validated
- Country Limitations
- Incorrect mobile/cell number
- You have run out of credit in your SMSBump account
Your SMSBump account has not been validated
It is important to validate your SMSBump account before integrating with the Happy Birthday App.
You can find out if your SMSBump account has been validated or not by going to SMSBump > SMS Campaigns > Create Campaign (https://smsbump.yotpo.com/sms/text-marketing) and then clicking on the Send test message button:
If you see the following message, you will need to contact SMSBump support to ask for your account to be validated:
Accounts are not usually validated if your Shopify store is not yet live.
Country Limitations
Your SMSBump account may have country limitations in place that restrict your account from sending messages to certain countries.
To find out, go to SMSBump > Settings > Country Limitations to see if this is why sending to certain country codes is failing:
Incorrect mobile/cell number
When the SMSBump integration is enabled, customers can optionally provide a mobile number and set their preference to receive an SMS birthday message rather than a Birthday email.
There is no check at that point to make sure that the mobile/cell number provided is a valid number, so there is every possibility this is why SMSBump are unable to send the message.
You should be able to log into SMSBump and see whether or not there have been any delivery issues associated to that number.
You have run out of credit in your SMSBump account
If Birthday messages are not being sent out by SMSBump, please check your SMSBump account to ensure that you have enough credit.
Please Note:
If an SMS message can not be sent for any reason via SMSBump, we will send the birthday message out via email, as long as that contact has an email address associated with their account.
