If you've been using Customer Fields for a while and have only just enabled the integration with the Happy Birthday app, then you may wish to import your existing customers from Customer Fields into Happy Birthday.
Why would I want to do this?
Importing your Customer Fields customers with Birthdates into Happy Birthday means that they will be added to your Birthday Club. The Happy Birthday app will then be able to schedule and send out a Birthday email to those customers with an automatically generated discount code each calendar year.
How do I set this up?
The first thing you need to do is Export only those customers with Birthdates from your Customer Fields account.
Export your Customers from Customer Fields
Go to Customer Fields > Customers:
Click on + Add filter and select the data column you are using to collect Birthdates. Select the condition has any value and click on Done:
The customers view will retrieve only those customers that have a value within your chosen Birthdate data column. To check this, click on the columns icon to the top right of the returned customer list:
Select the data column used to store customer birthdates (in this example, it is called Date of Birth) as well as making sure that First name, Last name and Email are the only other data columns selected:
Click on the Done button and your customers view should display the returned customer list with only those data columns:
TIP: You can save this segment in Customer Fields should you wish to use it again:
Now you have a list of your Customers with Birthdays, it's time to export them.
At the top of the screen, select the Export link:
Make sure that the FROM option is set to Current filter
Make sure that the INCLUDE option is set to Selected data columns:
Click on the Export button and you will see a notification that your export will be delivered to the email associated with your Customer Fields account:
Check your email
Go to the associated email account and find the email from Helium. Click on the View export button in that email.
You will be taken into your Customer Fields Account where you can then download the CSV file:
