If you are using the apps default settings, discount codes will automatically be generated for inclusion into the Birthday emails that get sent out.
If you would like to check that the app is generating the automatic discount codes correctly, then go to your Shopify Admin > Discounts area and then search for the BIRTHDAY- prefix. If you changed the default prefix for the discount code, then search for that text string instead:
If you have been running your Birthday Campaign using the Happy Birthday app for a while then you should then see some discount codes that have been created by the Happy Birthday app.
What if I still don't see any discount codes?
There may be a few reasons why this is happening:
- If you have enabled one of our integrations for sending out your Birthday Email, (i.e. MailChimp or Klaviyo) then you will already be using the discount applied landing page feature. When using this feature, discount codes will only be created when the Customer clicks the discount page link from within the birthday email and arrives at the discount applied landing page.
- You have enabled the auto-apply discount feature within the Birthday Email Campaign settings which then enables the discount applied landing page feature. Again, discount codes will only be created when the Customer clicks the discount page link from within the birthday email and arrives at the discount applied landing page.
- If you're using our copy and paste auto-generated discount codes, then it may be that none of your Birthday Club members had their birthday yet and therefore we have not yet generated their birthday discount code.
- If you are using your own discount code and not an auto-generated one, then you will need to search for this in the Shopify Admin > Discounts area.
